Hello everyone: I wanted to share my trip to Toronto with you. I have lived in Toronto all of m life, except for the last six years in which I moved to the suburbs. Here is my son, Justyn (he is 11) entering Best Buy. He loves this store so much and the best thing about it is that he gets to buy things with his own money. He has a paper route and is a great businessman. The above photo is of Justyn and I....look at where we were....
We walked by two bus drivers and I as so amazed by this sleek, shiny big black bus that the drivers told me that we could take photos if we liked. Justyn is a high-functioning Autistic child. He just loves Wheels and this was a reat treat for him.

Look at the size of this bus.....as Tre says on Home Makeover...."MOVE THAT BUS!"

After all of that excitement, we worked up an appetite. My friend Marie, who works in Toronto, took us out for lunch to The Pickle Barrel.

Okay, I am guilty of eating one of the desserts first before I realized I wanted to take a photo. LOL>

Here is Justyn and I smiling after we filled up our tummies with goodies.

My long time friend, Marie.

On our way back underground. Justyn and I travel "The Path" that goes from Union Station to the Eaton Centre. The great thing is that we get to see our friends when we go to Toronto.

This photo is of the washroom..ya, ya I know..what on earth? I made sure there wasn't a soul in the washroom and I wanted to take a photo. I don't see many of these washrooms around. This one was pretty enough to take a photo.

Lastly, here is Platinum Elvis....lol....when we walked out onto the street, Jusytn and I noticed this peculiar guy. He was wonderful to watch. Here he is asking me to come closer so that he can serenade me ...oh my....

I hope you have enjoyed your visit....

Cards for Two Special People in My Life

I made time to make two cards the other day.

On National Scrapbook Day I was able to go and find time to shop and have fun with my friend Karyn. Her and I did this last year too. Hopefully it will be our little tradition.

With the excitement of being able to purchase new items and to take a break from the school books, I got the mojo flowing...this is what I came up with.

This card is for my best friend Judy. Judy and I went to high school together. We inseperable, I mean even the teachers knew not to put us in lunch or detention for that matter, together. Needless to say, there was a lot of skipping going on, I am ashamed to say. LOL>>>

Judy makes me laugh, always has and always will. Her mom said that Judy and I are cut from the same cloth. I sure hope that is Egyptian Cotton LOL>>>

This is the special card for Judy:

This card was created for my Fella. He will be receiving this card in the mail this week. I bought this stamp at Scrapbook Emporium and I knew just who it was for.

Thanks for dropping by.....

Have a wonderful creative day,

Kards for Kids

Hello everyone: Long time no see. I wish I had more time for my blog but with school lately, I haven't had time for much of anything. I wanted to share these fun cards with you that I created for the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. The stamps that you see here are from High Hopes Stamps. http://www.highhopesstamps.com/This was their last huge release before this current one. You need to hop on over there and see the wonderful stamps that Tina provides us stampers with. This mermaid was named after me. Her name is, "Sweet Anabela." I had to make cards using her and giving her all different colours of hair. I am hoping that a sweet little girl will get a smile on her face when she sees one of these mermaid cards. The Pirates and sea life are absolutely adorable too. They are perfect for birthday cards and for other occassions. I hope you have enjoyed stopping in. If you would like more information on how to join me for Kards for Kids, please contact me and I will give you some information. I have opened a Yahoo Groups account so that I may have other eager stampers join me in the fun of creating cards for these wonderful children.....

If you would like to join the Yahoo Group: KardsforKids, please contact me and I can add you as a member. All I would need is your e-mail address to do so.
Thanks for dropping by,

My Fella Supports my Habbit.....lol

On Easter Sunday my Fella came to my door with my Easter goodies and this wonderful Sticker Rack that he custom made just for me at work. I was amazed at the craftsmanship. It looks like one of those jewellery holders in the large department stores. Needless to say, I was amazed, so excited and ever so greatful to have such an attentive Fella.

I will be moving in a few months and the house has a finished basement, I do believe that there is plenty of room for a Scraproom just for moi.

I hope you enjoy your weekend and have a creative day too.

BACK INTO THE SCRAP OF THINGS....

Hello: I hope you are having a scrappy day. I was fortunate to have some time to scrap some layouts this past weekend. After a day of shopping at the local scrapbook stores with my scrappy friend Karyn, last week and picking up my photos from Wal-mart....this scrapper was itching to scrap.

Here is: A Layout using Bo Bunny Papers.

My son and I went to the Toronto Auto Show in February and this was the highlight of his day LOL>

For this Layout: I used the new Little Yellow Bicycle patterned paper and I was able to play with my friend Jeanette's Cricket. I enjoyed changing thing up a bit. The font as fairly large but so appropriate as these two cuties are larger than life...My DD and Fella's DD..too cute..they call themselve, "The Identities."

Lastly this is a page that I have thought about for quite some time. I used the Prima flowers on this page because I had seen a similar layout at Scrapbook Academy. Yes, Virginia, you can use flowers on a masculine page. LOL>>>>These papers are Basic Grey and the cardstock of course. Bazzil and Core-dinations.

I am hoping to attend the Scrafest in Kitchener in a few weeks. I went last year and came home with so much fun stuff. I will for sure stock up on cardstock and patterned papers..my faves.

Have a creative day,

Bela

A Happy Birthday Card

Good day: I hope you are having a scrappy day. The sun shone today and it was pretty warm at 15'c. Love the spring weather.
I want to share a birthday card with you today. I made this custom made for Fella's brother's grandaughter. I hope you like it.

I used a Whipper Snapper stamp.

Inside photo.

Thanks for peeking on in..have a great creative day,

Do you Text?

Hello everyone: I thought I would share a card that I made for my Fella. He sometimes texts me to say hello during his lunch hour or breaks. Since we just crack up with these cell phones and text each other I thought I would make him a gift card.

The inside of the card was created to hole a mobile phone pay as you go card. He was surprised and smiled a huge smile ear to ear...ahhh he is just too cute.

I used the Stampingbella stamp and the BoBunny papers. I just loved these colours. I made the card to look similar to me..Bela...not the "Bella."

Last Saturday I got together with my two friends from High School and their DHs. We had a lovely dinner, talked about old times at school and how I would find a clearing on an outing and I would bolt it to the donut shop to play Pac Man. LOL>>>Nothing like High School friends to keep your secrets....to remember them after 26 years? PRICELESS!!!!

My BFF Judy, Nelia and I. We had such a fun time going down memory lane.

Our own rendition of: THE WIZARD OF OZ!!!!

Judy as Glinda the Good Witch of the North....and I Dorothy..of course didn't the red stilhettoes give it away? Now if I can only click my heels..hey Dorothy's were much easier to work with.

I went to the hairdresser today...the new do...just a lot of layering and she advised me to keep the length.

Have a Happy Creative Day,
Bela

Back to School for the Kiddies and Craftin' for Me.

Hi Everyone: I hope you enjoyed Spring Break. I for one was busy this year and the kids had a great time.

I wanted to share with you a layout that I created for a "Layout Tag" on Lil Scrappers. http://lilscrappers.ca/

There were so many participants and you had to follow some rules. One was to have paper from a certain company or to combine a few of the ones on the list. I chose to go Basic Grey.

Recipe:

  • Cardstock base...Core-dinations black

  • Basic Grey Patterned papers as follows:

  • Neutral - Granola Collection "Honey."

  • Blue - Granola Collection "Flax."

  • Patterened circles - Granola Collection "crunchy."

  • The flourishes were cut out using my Quikutz, Revolution die cut machine.

  • Stickles on the letters.

  • Cosmo Cricket black board chip board letters.

  • Sticker letters, from the local dollar store.

  • Denim paper from Michaels Slab I, 2005

Technique:

  • Paper tearing

  • inking edges

  • pop-dotted the circles

This is a layout of my DS. He is now going to be 12 in June. Time flies. He sure flew down the road on his littel bike to his brother's soccer game. He was excited to go to the park and to see the subway trains go into the tunnel from the top bridge. His smile was priceless every time.

Are you welcoming the first day of Spring?

This card inspired me a few weeks ago to make for a card swap on Lil Scrappers. I make a card and then I send the same materials used to my partner. She in turn will post her card and then I post my card so that we can see the different styles. Great fun.

My friend Donna http://busyscrapper.blogspot.com/ sent me these fun-filled colourful papers a while back. I had to use them for my first Spring card of the season.

Have a wonderful creative day,

Thank you Donna. This was very generous of you. If you wish to go to Donna's blog and it is a great one, please go and visit her at: http://busyscrapper.blogspot.com
